Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

Soil growers will not be concerned about this issue for a few more months now, but year-round aquaponics growers face pest issues all year.  We had a heavy infestation of aphids that somehow got into our greenhouse in August last year and we have fought them for months.  We finally had to pull all our lettuce to remove their food source.  Has anyone else dealt with these guys recently and have discovered any effective means to deal with them while not harming plants or fish?  I read somewhere that if someone tells you they don't have aphids in their greenhouse, they are lying!  Advice online suggests soap in water, orange oil in water, neem oil, etc. but hoping someone has discovered an effective means for us aquaponics growers.
