Hi, have a basement system with pacu, previously had red nile tilapia. Have learned a lot, though the costs of heating & grow lights are becoming prohibitive. Intend to scrap it and move it outdoors. Looking at making a diy greenhouse into an embankment with laid up concrete block walls, tank, and framed in with various glass windows and doors I have been collecting. Loved the tilapia, they had so much personality, though keeping them warm enough is problematic, so seeing what else is out there. Perch is a favorite for my family, though sounds like a lot of work. Interesting how one member raises tilapia and perch together with the tilapia fry being a main food source for the perch. Not sure you ever get it the way you want it, though highly addictive!
