I am researching and wish to build an aquaponics system and greenhouse for herbs, vegetables, and fruits. I also want to have a beautiful pond along the back cinder block wall behind our pool area. I would like to use the pond area as a means for the cycling for the green house that can connect to the end of the above ground pond. This project is in the planning stages and I wish first to gain as much info prior to starting. In the next 6 months I will begin with the building of the pond, then the green house. I have already cleared the area. I also have a small simplistic indoor aquaponics for my indoor clippings of shaded plants that has been doing very well with no glitches for the past 2 months. My current one Beta fish is healthy and appears to be doing well with minimal attention other than once every 2 weeks I pour through cycled water from another bowl to clear up a bit of cloud due to someone in house over feeding him. Other than that all seems to be going well and the plants have expanded well and healthy.

I have a question about lady bugs in a green house that cycles water from the pond. I have never used pesticides in any of my gardens in the past and wondered if the ladybugs would cause any issues with the water. Thanks Maggie
