We love growing thins. Our retirement hobby was a naturally based farm where we produced grass-finished beef, pastured poultry, pastured poultry eggs, and raw milk. We retired from that last year, and one thing leading to another, decided to try our hand at aquaponics. We converted one of our old portable egg-mobiles to a greenhouse. We got your book from the library, and found it to be very helpful. We purchased 50 tilapia fry, and raised them in aquariums in the basement until we had the greenhouse tank cycled and ready for them. Things are growing well there, except the squash and tomatoes are not setting fruit, even with hand pollination. We open the doors and window in the daytime and close them at night. It gets up to nearly 100 degrees here in the daytime and down in the 50s at night. We have not been able to get the nitrates above 0, so have recently added 45 or so 5" to 6" goldfish from a friend. They are in the sump time, rather than in the tilapia tank, which is located under the grow beds in a fill and drain system.
