I live in southern mexico on the coast, where it is very hot and humid. My house has a flat roof where I have grown tomatoes etc.. in buckets. The tomatoe plant grew fast but the tomatoes had very hard skins and didn't ripen properly I think due to too much heat. We put up nursery netting to shield the plants a bit and it worked ok. But its a lot of work trying to keep the plants from drying up so when I saw the aquaponics I got very excited about it. I am looking forward to starting but I don't know where to begin. My goal is to learn how to do it well and then show the people here how to do it. We have a few restaurants where we help young people become self sufficient and this would be an excellent project to help towards that since we use a lot of tomatoes,chiles etc...
