Thank you Paul for the clarification.  Is the coalition planning any activities this spring?  Your postings have been very helpful to me.  Thank you again for the links previously submitted.

There was someone working with Sterling Caviar In Elverta, but it is not a true closed loop system as it was using the waste water from the sturgeon tanks and the dumping it. Hard to get an aquaculture farm to change methods.

Thank you Paul!   Where is your farm located?   prediction for visits?

biggest I know in City limits (currently) is Sac State http://www.csus.edu/storc/

(though I'm working on a larger one, not yet ready for visitors).

outside City limits:  http://community.theaquaponicsource.com/profile/ErikPowell

further afield:  http://community.theaquaponicsource.com/profile/BlairRice in Grass Valley (haven't talked with him in a while - not sure if up for visitors)

even further:  http://ouroborosfarms.com/ and http://www.schoolgrown.com/, co-located in Half Moon Bay.  Definitely worth the trip!

I'm sure there are more.

Hello forum attendees,  Curious as to who has a current larger aquaponics growing operation in Sacramento area.  Any contact recommendations?

Hi Paul and thanks. I'm very interested in learning about aquaponics. Currently, I work as an RN in ICU, and I live in Sacramento. I would like to build an aquaponic system. Moreover, my son and I want to build a small aquaponic system for his 4H project at his school. However, I have a rudimentary understanding of aquaponics.  I was hoping that you could help me with learning resources, small system ideas and any local Sacramento contacts that my son and I could utilize in this adventure.  Finally, I have a vision for my life and my family. I’m tired of the way our society consumes and waste recourses of our planet. I'm tried of the frankinfood/GMO garbage that is being produce today.  I want to live a more sustainable lifestyle, and in the long run, I eventually want to produce most of our food that we eat. Thank you for your time.
