I have some lettuce growing but it all just falls down...it's not standing up.

Any ideas why?

Did I plant the lettuce too high?  And therefore it can't stand up because it doesn't have a foundation to hold it up?

I really have no clue.

You're lettuce looks a little spindly (like mine :)...how much light are you giving them? How many hours and what are you using for lights? I found that I was giving my lettuce too much light and lowered my hours a little, some of my spinach was actually going straight to bolt. Also, are you circulating the air in your space? Plants require the air to be moving around a little, it toughens the stems.

Oh, and how old is your system since you added fish? Sometimes, even if you are doing everything right, it just takes time. You're bacterial colony will become more established and cause more nutrients to be available to your plants. I've heard a lot of people say it takes about six months and your system will improve dramatically, and as I'm reaching that point, I'm finding that to be the truth.

The system is on my back porch.  There's a bit of an overhang from the apartment above me so I don't think it gets full sun all day.  Air and what not should be good since it's outside.

My system is only a few months old and have not even put fish yet (I know....I got a bit impatient and just added a bunch of stuff while I waited) I am going to add 10 fish this week.

So...when the nutrients from the fish and all the bacteria get matured the lettuce should stand right up?
